WordPress AI Content Generator Stack: Costs and Parts
This stack costs $156.38 in the first year: Hostinger Premium on a 12-month term at $47.88, the free Kadence theme at $0, AI Engine Pro Starter at $59 and All in One SEO Basic at $49.50. At renewal it costs at least $230.88, with no renewal price stated for AI Engine. The AI provider's usage charges are extra, prices come from vendor pages, and I have not run quality tests.
What this job needs
An AI-assisted blog needs a host, a theme, a plugin that connects to an AI service, and a person who checks every draft before it is published.
- A host whose page states a first-term price and a renewal price
- A theme that needs no paid licence to start
- An AI plugin whose pages say whether you need your own AI provider key; the provider's usage charges are extra
- An SEO plugin with a USD price and a stated renewal price on its page
- A person to fact-check and edit every AI draft before it goes live
Recommended plugins, theme and host
Hosting: Hostinger
Rule: the lowest first-year cash in USD among the hosts in my hosting data whose page states a USD renewal price. That is Hostinger's 12-month Premium term at $47.88, against Bluehost Starter at $3.99 a month for 36 months, which is $143.64 (36 times $3.99). Kinsta, WP Engine and Cloudways state no separate renewal price, and SiteGround's page showed euros only. The page lists 3 websites, 20 GB SSD storage, free weekly backups and a CDN, and says it renews at $10.99/mo for the same term.
Cost: Premium, 12-month term, 12 months, paid upfront. $47.88 in the first year, $131.88 a year at renewal. Checked Oct 30, 2026.
Theme: Kadence
Rule: a free theme whose own directory page states the price. The page says: This theme is free but offers additional paid commercial upgrades or support. It lists version 1.5.2, last updated July 24, 2026, and 500,000+ active installations. The paid upgrades are not priced on that page.
Cost: Free theme from the WordPress.org directory, free, no term. $0 in the first year, $0 a year at renewal. Checked Oct 30, 2026.
AI plugin: AI Engine Pro
Rule: the only paid plugin in my AI plugins list with a USD price on its page. The vendor lists an Editor Assistant on Pro, described as a full AI sidebar that reads, rewrites and rearranges your content blocks, and says you bring your own AI account and keys. Pro Starter covers 1 website. The page does not state a renewal price.
Cost: Pro, Starter, yearly licence. $59 in the first year, with no renewal price stated by the vendor. Checked Oct 30, 2026.
Best-list: Best AI Plugins for WordPress, With Renewal Costs
SEO plugin: All in One SEO
Rule: the lowest first-year cash in USD among the SEO plugins with a USD price on a page I read. That is AIOSEO Basic at $49.50 against Yoast Premium at $118.80. The page lists 1 site and 10,000 AI credits, says all renewals are at full price, and its FAQ says Basic renews at $99/year. The pricing page notes the AI Writing Assistant requires a paid SEOBoost subscription.
Cost: Basic, yearly, introductory price for the first year. $49.50 in the first year, $99 a year at renewal. Checked Oct 31, 2026.
What it costs
First year is what you pay in the first 12 months. A plan marked as prepaid covers more than 12 months, so its amount is the full upfront payment and not a 12-month cost. Renewal is the cost of 12 months at the price the vendor lists for renewal. Every figure shows the date I checked it.

A cheaper stack
Keep the host and theme, run AI Engine's free plugin instead of Pro and drop the paid SEO plugin. That drops the Pro features the vendor lists, such as the Editor Assistant and embeddings, and the AI credits that come with the SEO plugin, and it keeps the same need for your own AI provider key.
- Hosting: Hostinger. Same host and 12-month term as the main stack, at $47.88 in the first year and $131.88 at renewal. Best WordPress Hosting (October 2026): Compared
- Theme: Kadence. Same free theme as the main stack.
- AI plugin: AI Engine. The vendor page lists a free version with chatbots, an instant content generator, an editor copilot and image AI. It needs an API key from your AI provider, and the provider's usage charges are extra. Best AI Plugins for WordPress, With Renewal Costs

Human editing is still required
An AI plugin produces a draft, and a person has to check it before it goes live. AI Engine's disclaimer page says it does not guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of the content generated by the AI, and that you are solely responsible for monitoring and reviewing it. Yoast's AI features page says nothing goes live without your say.
This page makes no claim about how often any plugin gets something wrong, and I have not measured that. The advice below applies to any AI draft.
- Check every name, price, date and figure against the source before publishing.
- Replace any quote or statistic you cannot trace to a page you have read.
- Read the draft against what you know about the topic, and rewrite sections that do not match.
- Keep a note of which sources you checked, so a reader or a colleague can repeat the check.
- Read every SEO title and meta description the plugin drafts before you apply it.
What the totals leave out
- AI provider usage: AI Engine needs your own provider account and API key, and the provider bills usage separately. It is not in any total.
- SEO plugin: AIOSEO Basic is in the main total at its introductory price. Yoast Premium ($118.80/year, no renewal price stated) is on the cost page and in neither stack.
- Domain: the Hostinger page lists a free domain for 1 year, and the page I read does not state a domain renewal price.
- AI Engine renewal: the page states no renewal price, so the renewal total is a minimum.
- Tax: Hostinger lists prices without VAT, and Yoast shows its price as ex VAT. I did not log a tax statement for the other plans.
Other AI and SEO plugin prices, not in the totals
Yoast Premium and Jetpack AI have dollar prices on the pages I read but are in neither stack. Rank Math's page still showed euros in the US view, so it is shown in euros and not converted.
| Plugin and plan | Price as shown | Billing term | Renewal, as the page states it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yoast SEO Premium | $118.80/year, excluding VAT | Yearly, 1 website or domain | The page does not state a renewal price |
| Jetpack AI | $4.95/month for the first year, shown beside a struck-through $9.95 | Billed yearly | The page says all renewals are at full price and does not label the figure |
| Rank Math AI Starter | €4.69/month during a Halloween Sale, with Previously €6.99 shown | Billed annually, excluding VAT | The page says: Renews at €6.99 per month + taxes |
What this page is based on
Nothing on this page comes from hands-on use of these products. Every price and limit is the vendor's own, read from its page on the date shown, and I have not run speed, uptime or support tests.
How I checked
Every price comes from the cost page named above, read from each vendor's own pricing page, theme page or WordPress.org listing on October 30 and 31, 2026. Nothing was purchased and I have not used these products for this page.
The first-year total is plain addition: $47.88 plus $0 plus $59 plus $49.50 is $156.38 for the main stack, and $47.88 plus $0 plus $0 is $47.88 for the cheaper one. Renewal is $131.88 for the host plus $0 for the free theme plus $99 for AIOSEO Basic, which is $230.88, and AI Engine Pro states no renewal price, so that figure is a minimum.

Questions
How much does a WordPress AI blog cost in the first year?
On the prices I read, the main stack is $156.38: Hostinger Premium for 12 months at $47.88, the free Kadence theme at $0, AI Engine Pro Starter at $59 and All in One SEO Basic at $49.50. The AI provider's usage charges are extra and are not included.
Do I need my own API key for an AI content plugin?
For AI Engine, yes: the vendor says it needs an API key from your AI provider, or a local model, and you pay the provider directly. Jetpack says its built-in assistant needs no setup, and Yoast says its AI features use the OpenAI API through Yoast.
Can an AI plugin publish posts without a person checking them?
The AI Engine disclaimer says you are solely responsible for monitoring and reviewing the content it generates. Whether a particular plugin can publish on its own is not something this page claims.
